Swiss Air Lines Wanderlust Airbus A350-900 HB-IFA 1:200 Scale Model
The Airbus A350-900 HB-IFA was the first aircraft of this type in the SWISS International Air Lines fleet. It arrived in Zurich on October 9, 2025, and was named Lausanne in honor of the city of Lausanne. A special SWISS Wanderlust livery was created for this aircraft—an artistic tribute to Switzerland’s cities, nature, and culture.
The livery was designed by Swiss illustrator and animator Frédéric Siegel. Instead of a single large symbol, he combined many individual scenes in which tradition meets modernity. The name “Wanderlust” conveys the desire to travel, discover new places, and explore the world.
Among the characters featured in the design are Freddie Mercury, an Alpine marmot, and Helvetia—the personification of Switzerland—depicted wearing sunglasses on a lounge chair. An apple pierced by an arrow references the legend of William Tell. The illustrations on the fuselage and engine nacelles depict the country’s people, places, and cultural symbols. Some of the motifs were also inspired by writer Ina Haller’s account of her journey through Switzerland.
This 1:200 scale model showcases the aircraft’s commemorative livery. It will complement a collection of special liveries, a selection of SWISS aircraft, or a display of modern Airbus models. It’s fascinating to examine it up close, spotting familiar symbols and discovering new details. A wonderful gift for a pilot, aviation enthusiast, collector, or traveler who has a special connection to Switzerland and its aviation history.
