1:200 Scale Model of the ITA Airways Airbus A320
The blue ITA Airways Airbus A320 is an iconic symbol of Italian civil aviation. This 1:200 scale model by JC Wings reproduces the aircraft with registration EI-DSY: the rich color of the fuselage, the large ITA Airways lettering, the white, red, and green stripes on the tail, and the fine decorative pattern on the rear of the fuselage. The white engine nacelles, featuring elements of the Italian flag, stand out distinctly against the blue background.
The livery has its own history. For ITA Airways, the color blue serves as a nod to the uniforms of Italy’s national sports teams, symbolizing unity and pride in the country. The decorative motifs on the fuselage are inspired by Italy’s artistic heritage. Thus, behind the striking design lies a well-thought-out concept: to combine aviation, culture, and the country’s sporting spirit.
The Airbus A320 itself holds a special place in the history of passenger aviation. It was the first commercial aircraft to feature a fully digital fly-by-wire control system. In this system, pilot commands are transmitted via electronic signals, and computers control the movement of the aircraft’s control surfaces.
The model features a metal fuselage, with detailed replicas of the landing gear, engines, doors, and rows of windows. It will be a natural addition to a collection of European airlines or the Airbus A320 family. For an aviation enthusiast or pilot, it’s a gift with character, and for a traveler, it’s a small reminder of Italian airports and their own flights.
