The 1:400 scale Air Canada Airbus A321XLR model from NG Models reproduces the aircraft with registration number C-GXLR. This particular aircraft was the first of its kind in the fleet of Canada’s largest airline.
Air Canada took delivery of C-GXLR at the Airbus plant in Hamburg on April 24, 2026. The aircraft was delivered to the airline as part of an agreement with SMBC Aviation Capital and was the first of 30 A321XLR aircraft ordered by Air Canada. The registration C-GXLR was a particularly apt choice: its last three letters echo the XLR designation—Extra Long Range.
The Airbus A321XLR combines the narrow fuselage of the A320 family with the capability to operate long-haul international flights. For the first time among the carrier’s narrow-body aircraft, the Air Canada cabin features the Signature Class with 14 seats that recline to a fully horizontal position. The airline plans to use this new aircraft type on transcontinental and transatlantic routes.
