Boeing 757's can be argued collectively amongst aviation enthusiasts as the best and most favored civilian airliner ever built; with this edition crafted to pay tribute to the retirement of the type in British passenger service.
Crafted from G-LSAK, a Boeing 757-23N(WL); line number 735 left Renton (USA) to its customer, American Trans Air (ATA Airlines) as N517AT in May
1996. This aircraft served the Indianapolis based carrier until 2008 to which the iconic carrier ceased operations.
This unfortunate timing was perfect as its next owner, the British carrier Jet2, was preparing to grow its fleet of Boeing 757s which proved to be ideal aircraft for the holiday carrier.
However in 2024, the light began to fade away for the type where Jet2 began 2024 with 6 aircraft of the type in their fleet, with only 3 remaining as of November that year. Alpha Kilo was the youngest in their fleet at the time (28.2 years) and wore the standard Jet2holidays livery. G-LSAK flew her last commercial flight from Antalya to Manchester on 4th of January 2025 as LS896, a day prior to the very last service operated by Alpha India from Geneva as LS812.
On the 6th of January 2025, with a delay of two hours, at 13:30 on cold British afternoon, G-LSAK took to the skies for the final time as "Channex 75 Alpha Kilo" from Manchester's Runway 23 Left bound for St Athan Airport.
In February of 2025 the aircraft was broken up and pieces of Alpha Kilo were purchased by our team for everyone to enjoy
