British Aerospace BAe 146 keychain

The aircraft from which the aircraft is made was first delivered to San Diego, California, by Pacific Southwest Airlines (PSA) in December 1985 and completed its North American career with USAir. In 1996, the aircraft returned home and operated for the British company Flightline.

Under Flightline's operation, the aircraft was leased to a number of major European regional carriers, such as: Air Dolomitri, Lufthansa, Goldwing Airlines, Croatia Airlines, CityJet and Air France. The four-engine configuration has made it an iconic aircraft for flights to London City Airport. In 2013, the aircraft was converted to a business class configuration, and since JOTA, the SMLA has been used primarily for football charters, although it has also flown livery tours for the Rolling Stones, U2, Robbie Williams, and more. In August 2020, the G-SMLA was withdrawn from the JOTA Aviation fleet and is being stored at their maintenance base in Cranfield, UK.

The disassembly of the aircraft began in February 2024, and with the help of JOTA Aviation CEO and Director Andy Green, the Fuselage Creations team was able to salvage some parts of the G-SMLA for the enjoyment of aviation enthusiasts around the world.
