The AN-124 Ruslan is a transport airplane developed by the Antonov Design Bureau. The AN-124 became the world's largest airplane at the time of its construction and until the AN-225 Mriya was introduced, depriving the American C-5 Galaxy of this title. After the destruction of the Mriya, it remains the heaviest aircraft, the world's second largest aircraft in terms of cargo capacity after the Boeing 747-8, and the largest military transport aircraft.
