Icelandair Boeing 757 TF-FIU Keychain
A genuine piece of the Hekla Aurora—the aircraft that turned the northern lights into a recognizable symbol of Icelandair. This Aviationtag keychain is made from the original skin of a Boeing 757-256 with the registration TF-FIU and preserves a fragment of its unique livery.
The history of this aircraft began on April 8, 1994, and by July 29, it had been transferred to Iberia. Later, the aircraft also operated for Air Europa, and in 2004, it joined the Icelandair Group and received the Icelandic registration TF-FIU. Throughout its career, it connected cities in Iceland, Europe, and North America.
In late 2014, a team of artists used airbrushing to transform the aircraft into the “Hekla Aurora.” The northern lights, in shades of green, turquoise, and blue, stretched along the fuselage above the winter Icelandic landscape. Inside the cabin, this atmosphere was enhanced by specially programmed LED lighting.
More than 31 years of flight, 80,622 hours in the air, and 29,356 landings—that was the tally of its flying career. On October 12, 2025, Icelandair bid farewell to the Hekla Aurora with a special sightseeing flight over Iceland. The aircraft was later transported to Lleida, Spain, where, in July 2026, the Aviationtag team received pieces of its fuselage for the joint Aviationtag × Icelandair series.
Each keychain is cut directly from the aircraft fuselage. The aircraft type, registration number TF-FIU, and a unique serial number are engraved on the surface of the keychain. Now a piece of the aircraft’s history can travel with you—on your keys, bag, or backpack—or become part of your aviation collection.
