Description

A part of a downed russian Sukhoi S-70 Okhotnik-B drone

The proceeds, excluding commissions and taxes, go to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Here are authentic fragments of the structure of the Russian experimental Sukhoi S-70 Okhotnik-B drone. The parts are well-preserved and showcase the aircraft’s design features: a multilayer skin with honeycomb core, internal structural elements, fasteners, bolts, and a bright protective coating.

The S-70 was designed as a flying wing using technologies to reduce radar visibility. It is believed that during its development, the russians may have utilized certain design elements from the American RQ-170 Sentinel, one of which fell into Iranian hands in 2011. The UAV is also linked to the Su-57 fighter program and was likely developed to operate in tandem with it as a follow-on aircraft.

On October 5, 2024, a Su-57 and an S-70 took off from the Akhtubinsk Air Base to test the drone under real combat conditions. During the flight, the Okhotnik presumably lost control and began moving toward territory controlled by Ukraine. To prevent the drone from falling into the hands of the Ukrainian military intact, the accompanying Su-57, according to a widely accepted account, shot it down with an air-to-air missile. The approximately 20-metric-ton drone crashed near Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region.

Western-made components were found among the wreckage, as well as remnants of a D-30SN guided aerial munition. This may indicate that the S-70’s strike capabilities were being tested during the flight.

We are deeply grateful to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for this rare opportunity to acquire some pieces of the aircraft’s wreckage, and we hope that in the future we will be able to work with many more successfully shot-down russian aircraft!
