Antonov An-71 Pin
The Antonov An-71 pin is dedicated to one of the most unusual experimental aircraft designed by the Antonov Design Bureau. The An-71 was developed based on the An-72 transport aircraft for early detection, tracking of aerial targets, and relaying information to aviation units.
At the center of the oval design is a three-dimensional model of the AN-71. It captures the aircraft’s distinctive features: a high wing, two engines above the wing, a modified tail section, and a large disc-shaped radar antenna above the keel. The see-through background highlights the aircraft’s unusual silhouette.
The border features the inscriptions Antonov-71, AEW&C, and Scorpion, while the upper part bears the Antonov emblem. The badge is available in a gold version with red enamel and a silver version with blue enamel.
The An-71’s maiden flight took place on July 12, 1985. A total of three prototype aircraft were built for the program: two for flight testing and one for static testing. The pin will be a rare addition to any collection dedicated to experimental aviation and the history of the Antonov company.
