Antonov An-8 Pin
The Antonov An-8 pin is dedicated to an important aircraft in the history of the Antonov Design Bureau. The An-8 was the company’s first purpose-built transport aircraft and laid the foundation for the further development of the well-known An-12 and An-22 transport aircraft.
At the center of the oval design is a three-dimensional figure of the twin-engine turboprop AN-8. Its distinctive features are captured in this miniature silhouette: a high-mounted wing, two large propellers, a massive fuselage, and a raised tail section. Openwork sections around the aircraft highlight the model’s shape.
The frame bears the name “Antonov-8” and the inscription “Letayushchiy Kit” (“Flying Whale”). The pin is available in two color variations: gold with red enamel and silver with blue enamel. It can be attached to a jacket, coat, cap, backpack, bag, or collector’s plaque.
The An-8’s maiden flight took place on February 11, 1956. The aircraft marked an important milestone in the development of Antonov’s transport aircraft line, making this pin particularly appealing to collectors, pilots, engineers, and aviation history enthusiasts.
