Triptych by Avtandil Gurgenidze
This triptych was created in 2025 in Vienna specifically for the international art project United By Art in Ukraine. The work consists of three canvases, each measuring 40×70 cm, with a total format of 120×70 cm. The technique used is acrylic on canvas, employing the artist's unique approach that combines expression, rhythm, and a sense of movement.
The work symbolizes the resilience and courage of Ukraine, where aviation and defense technologies serve as a shield and a manifestation of the nation's intellectual strength. This is not an illustration of war, but an artistic interpretation of contemporary reality, in which technology, movement, and space become part of the national character and resistance.
The author of the triptych is Avtandil Gurgenidze, a renowned artist, monumentalist, and photographer, a graduate of the Tbilisi Academy of Arts. During his career, he has held over 100 solo exhibitions in various countries around the world. In 2015, Gurgenidze became the first artist to hand-paint a real An-24 aircraft, transforming it into a unique aviation art object that was exhibited at Kyiv International Airport.
This triptych is a powerful collectible work of contemporary art that combines aviation themes, a relevant historical context, and a recognizable authorial style, making it significant from both an artistic and symbolic point of view.
