The Bombardier Dash 8-300, registration VH-TQZ, was part of Australia’s regional aviation fleet and operated flights in QantasLink livery. The aircraft was built in 2000 at the Downsview facility in Canada and delivered to Eastern Australia Airlines. It was named “Bundaberg” in honor of the city of Bundaberg in the state of Queensland.
The delivery flight from Canada to Australia concluded with its arrival in Tamworth in November 2000. The aircraft had a cabin capacity of 50 passengers and was used on regular regional routes.
